Privacy policy
Last updated 31 October 2026
Tinnieo is run by Leapsquad Pty Ltd ("we"). Fishing clubs use Tinnieo to manage members, competitions and results. This policy explains what personal information we hold, why, and your choices. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988.
Who is responsible for your information
Your club decides what member information to collect and enters most of it. We store and process it for the club. For questions about your club's records, ask your club first. For questions about how Tinnieo handles information, use our contact page.

Why we use it
- To let you log in and use your club's pages.
- To run competitions: scoring, leaderboards, judging and season tables.
- To help your club manage memberships and renewals.
- To answer enquiries.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
We don't sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Who sees it
- Your club's committee (owners, admins, treasurers, weighmasters) sees member records and catches for their club.
- Other members of your club see leaderboards, which show your first name and surname initial, your scores and your catch sizes. You choose who sees your approved catch photos on the Catch feed page: only you, your club, or everyone. The default is your club. Everyone means they also appear on that competition's public live leaderboard. Catches of members under 18 are never public. Nobody else sees your contact details or catch locations.
- The public sees a leaderboard only if your club makes that competition's link public. It shows first name and surname initial and scores only.
- Anyone with a competition's scoring link sees the names (first name and surname initial) of the anglers in that competition, so they can choose their own name. Clubs can switch the link off or replace it at any time.
- Our service providers: Supabase (database and login, Sydney region), our hosting provider (Sydney), and Amazon Web Services for sending emails [region to confirm]. They act on our instructions.
- Other clubs can't see your club's information.
We disclose information if the law requires it.
Overseas storage
Member data and catches are stored in Australia. [If the email service is outside Australia: login emails pass through Amazon Web Services in the United States.]
Junior members
Clubs may enter details of members under 18. The club is responsible for having a parent or guardian's consent. Juniors' contact details are only visible to the club committee.
Security
Each club's data is separated at the database level, so one club can never read another's. Connections are encrypted. Catch photos are private to the club. Committee access is limited by role.
How long we keep it
We keep information while the club uses Tinnieo. When a club closes its account, we delete its data within 90 days, except where the law requires us to keep it. Backups are overwritten within a further 30 days.
Cookies and similar storage
We use a small number of cookies and on-device storage to keep you signed in, remember your cookie choice, count your feature votes, and keep catches safe on your phone when there's no signal. We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't run analytics unless you agree to them. See our cookie policy for the full list, and change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
Logging in with Google or Facebook
If you choose Continue with Google or Continue with Facebook, that service tells us your name and email address so we can find your club membership. We don't get your password, contacts, friends or posts, and we never post anything for you.
Deleting your login
To delete your Tinnieo login and the details that come with it, use our contact page with the email you log in with. We'll delete it within 30 days and confirm by email. Your club's membership records belong to your club, so ask them too if you want those removed. If you logged in with Facebook, you can also remove Tinnieo in Facebook under Settings, then Apps and websites.
Your choices
- You can see and update your own details under My details.
- You can ask your club, or us, for a copy of your information or to correct it.
- You can ask your club to remove you as a member.
We'll answer requests within 30 days.
Complaints
Contact us first through our contact page. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
We'll post any changes here and tell club owners by email before significant changes take effect.
