Getting started

How long does it take to set up a club?

Most clubs are running in an afternoon. Create the club, add your membership types and import your members from a spreadsheet. Then set up your first competition, species and rules included, with the step-by-step wizard. The how-to guides show each step with screenshots.

Can we bring across our existing members and results?

Yes. Import members from a spreadsheet (CSV). If you have past results you'd like on the season table, send us a message and we'll help you move them across.

Do anglers need to download an app?

No. Tinnieo runs in the phone's web browser. Anglers scan the competition's QR code and start scoring. Committee members can add it to their home screen so it opens like an app.

Competitions and scoring

What if there's no phone signal on the water?

Keep logging. Catches are saved on the phone and sent on their own when it finds signal again, with the time they were caught. Read running a comp with no signal.

Can we use our own scoring rules?

Yes. Pick a format (longest fish, best three, points per species, percent of legal size, weight) and add your club's extras: minimum sizes, bag limits, attendance points, release bonuses, divisions and tie breaks. See choosing a scoring format.

Who checks the catches?

Anyone the club makes a judge. Catches with photos come in as they're logged, and the judge approves or queries each one. Only approved catches count on the leaderboard.

Can families follow the leaderboard from home?

Yes. Each competition has a live leaderboard link you can share in your club's group chat or show on a TV at the ramp. It updates as catches are approved.

Where does the weather come from?

From Open-Meteo's forecast and marine models, for the place set on the competition (or your club's home water in Settings). It shows wind, gusts, swell, water temperature, tides, pressure, rain, sunrise and the moon. It's modelled, so always check Bureau of Meteorology warnings before you launch.

Can we print the results?

Yes. On any competition, choose Download results: Excel for the newsletter, or a PDF with the results and a scorecard for every angler. Anglers can download their own scorecard too.

Members and payments

Can new members join online?

Yes. Turn on the join page in Settings and share the link. Applications come to the committee, and the member is active as soon as their payment is recorded.

Can members pay by card online?

Not yet. Today you record cash, bank transfer and card payments, and Tinnieo issues the receipt. Online card payments are on the way. Vote for it to help us prioritise.

What can each committee member see?

It depends on their role. Owners and admins run everything. The secretary manages members and applications. The treasurer also records payments. The competition director sets up and runs competitions. A weighmaster judges catches. Members see their own results, catches, badges and receipts, and the club's catch feed. Change a role from the person's member page.

When does our membership year start?

You choose. Most clubs run 1 July to 30 June. Set the starting month in Settings and renewals work it out from there.

Plans and billing

Is there really no card needed to try it?

Yes. Every club gets three months of everything free, with no card. Clubs with fewer than 20 members can stay on the free Starter plan for good. See pricing.

Are prices with or without GST?

Prices are shown without GST. GST is added on the invoice.

Who owns our club's data?

Your club does. You can download results, season tables and payments as spreadsheets at any time, and we'll export your member list on request. Read our privacy policy for the details.
